   Farming & Food

Production Update

Along with our successful Seniors run Goat Program,

we are now entering a new exciting phase in crop farming.   We have already built a security fence, farmer residence and water tank tower.  We have dug a 250m well and installed a solar water pump.  We have had irrigation drip lines donated and are in the process of setting up our system.  We still have a long way to go before our first 5 acres harvest.  We are planning our crops and are hoping to plant fruit trees.

Our plan is to provide all of our beneficiaries with added fresh fruit, vegetables and gains. These added nutrients will be very important for their health as fresh produce is very expensive and many go completely without. We also plan to provide the local Maasai with a portion of each harvest, and to sell any remaining produce.

Consider Providing David with an Education

David is Congolese refugee, along with his family. LCAS has supported David through elementary & high school. He is a very bright and hardworking boy. He has managed to secure a spot in a good university, but the university fees are completely out of reach for this family. His parents care for 7 children (some their own and some orphans from the war in The Congo) It is very hard for a refugee to find general work, as Kenyans are usually hired first. His family tries to provide the basics by doing odd day jobs. Refugees do not receive scholarships from the Kenyan government. The cost for a non-Kenyan to go to university is about $200/month. Please consider helping David and his family become self sufficient and to have hope for their futures.

Transform a Child's Life for only $30-$50 / month

Sending vulnerable children to school.  For only $30/month you can transform a child's life. We are dedicated to breaking the generational cycle of poverty with education, one child at a time.  Studies show every year of education a child receives increases their life expectancy, health, and chance of employment after secondary/post-secondary education.  Education in most of Africa is not free.  The cost of school fees, uniforms, school supplies keep many children out of school. For $50/month you can transform the life of that child with education, PLUS provide their school uniform, school supplies, any medicines needed and sanitary pads for the girls.  Without sanitary pads girls are often unable to attend school.

Your generous donation will transform lives.
